    What information is needed to start a 3D project?

    Startup Information:

    • 3D CAD – A .step is the preferred format for product rendering and animation.
    • Photos
    • Physical Samples
    • Dimensions
    • PDFs
    • PowerPoint
    • Colorways (HEX Color Code, RGB Values)
    • Scribbles on a used napkin

    What deliverables do you need?

    • Still images or Animation or Both?
    • Animation Resolution – HD or 4K?
    • Still Image Resolution? Typical is 3000 x 3000 pixels. Print Resolution – Length x Width @ 300dpi

    What's the cost of 3D?

    Great question! No one knows. It’ not devious. It’s just that every project is different. I have been working in 3D since 2006 and have quoted thousands of projects. I have added some rough cost information to my pages to give visitors a general idea. The best answer is to have clear directions for what you want out of your project. If you’re unsure of what all is needed for 3D, contact me and I’m happy to advise you. I always aim to keeps costs as low a possible and guide my clients to avoid unnecessary costs.

    Timeline?

    Much like the cost, timeline for any project depends on its scope, complexity, and the information provided. Completion can range from a few days to several months based on these factors. Additionally, the duration will be influenced by feedback and requested revisions during the process.

    I include two revision cycles in all of my quotes. If the information changes after the project has been greenlit or if additional revisions are requested, a budget and possibly a timeline expansion will need to be discussed.

    Process?

    Typically, I start with your 3d CAD, references and designs to create a fully digital version of your product, subject, or plans. Once completed, I can then create a wide range of visuals for any need, such as product variations, multiple angles, varying lighting, settings, or moods. This allows you to highlight particular features and alter imagery to create new visuals or variety as much as you need.
